Patient documents

Stop hunting through email attachments and paper folders — keep each patient's files on their record, where anyone who needs them can find them.

What to store here

Referral letters, test results, scans, insurance cards, ID copies, old records the patient brought in — any file that belongs to that patient.

Uploading a file

  1. Open the patient's record.
  2. Go to the Documents section.
  3. Click Upload and pick the file from your computer (PDFs, photos, scans — common formats all work).
  4. Done — the file is listed with its name and upload date.

Viewing and downloading

Click any document in the list to view or download it. Need to send it to the patient or another practice? Download it first, then attach it to your message.

Is it safe?

Yes — files are stored in secure private cloud storage. There is no public link to a patient document; only logged-in clinic users can access them.

Common questions

Wrong file uploaded? Upload the correct one; ask an admin to deal with the wrong one.

Big files won't upload. Very large files may exceed the upload limit. For scans, photograph or export at normal quality rather than maximum.

Where do signed consent forms live? Signed consents appear on the patient record automatically after signing — you don't upload those by hand. See Consent forms.
